A few walks to catch up on now since the last post, the first of these is our walk around the Fairfield Horseshoe in the Lake District. Starting from Rydal near Ambleside, up onto Nab Scar, Heron Pike, Great Rigg, Fairfield, Hart Crag, Dove Crag, High Pike and Low Pike. In all 10.5 miles and 3450ft of ascent.
This was our first day of three great days up in the Lakes and was a great walk to start with, once again we stayed dry the weather wasn't too bad, but very cold and icy up on the higher tops.

As we head towards Great Rigg the weather started to turn really wintry and a lot colder, here Holly contemplates launching herself into one of the half frozen pools
She just loves swimming, it must be freezing!

As we stopped for a bite to eat, a couple of ravens dropped in, they werent sure about the Kendal Mint Cake!

I just love photographing Herdys!!
A lovely walk back down the lower slopes, really warm in the sun, having been frozen not long earlier, we were down to base layers!
This was a great walk, a first for Sharon, and I had not done it for many years, 6 new wainwrights for Sharon and a great start to our long weekend in The Lakes.
